Go Girl!!! Nicolette demos IM for Club.
Nicolette Goncalves - the fastest swim suit in the Mississauga Masters Swim Club (hey - she is on the coaching staff and even her dog paddle is quicker than ... well, anyone!!) - demoed the IM to the club. At least we now know what it looks like!!! Now .. if we could only get ours to look the same!! (play in full screen mode - it is in HD!!)
Thanks Nicolette!!!
Thanks Nicolette!!!
(Ed Note: A special congratulatory note of thanks to our most senior member Doug Elsey who photographed the whole IM by holding the camera in his teeth and keeping up the blistering pace alongside Nicolette without use of fins ... and if you believe that, we have a bridge you may be interested in purchasing too!! :-) )

It's over!!!! We did good!!! Good bye Nationals!!!
Well - we came, we saw, we swam and we sort of conquered - but more than anything we had a really good time, met some great people, got nearly drowned in the "warm up" BUMPER POOL and swam our trunks off (not a pretty sight for some of us!).
All in all - a real hoot!!!
All in all - a real hoot!!!

Training starts for Nationals
Serious “after event” training started Thursday night at pub night for the Masters Nationals to be held in Montreal next month. Members are practicing in earnest … especially for the “Jug-a-minute” masters event. So far, they have a long way to go.

Just a reminder that Thursday night after swimming we will be having a get together at the Pump. Since most people don’t have to work early the next morning we are anticipating a good turnout. If you usually don’t swim Thursday nights please feel free to join us for this one. At this time, it would be a good opportunity for the Nationals swimmers to get together and discuss logistics, dinners out, relays etc. Hope you can make it.

Coach Eric caught in secret training video ...
It has been discovered that Coach Eric has secretly been training and trying out "new moves" for the upcoming season - including pool entries and exits, diving, and rescue techniques. The clandestine video shot of his training regime shows that he may have a rough training schedule in mind for the members this season. Of greatest concerns to the members may be his unorthodox diving entry technique that he demonstrates in the video - he no doubt will have us practice from the roof of Glen Erin. This could be an interesting season as he prepares us for the provincials next year.

Early Morning Swim
Swimmers pass the ray of light coming from the window in the Glen Forest Pool on Sunday morning. Although an early morning workout is EARLY, the sun streaming through the windows and into the water makes for a pleasant morning.
