We're Swimming with the Fish

The 2007/2008 Season is now underway!

HUNGRY? WE DO BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY MORNINGS AFTER PRACTICE
Join us for a fun, informal get together after practice on Sunday mornings at a nearby pub that hosts us for breakfast. Bacon, eggs, toast, homefries and juice are approx. $5. We'll give you directions on Sunday. Hey, sometimes even Coach Eric joins us.

GET TO KNOW YOUR FELLOW SWIMMERS OCTOBER 25
It's our first event of the season and a chance to meet the other club members (with their clothes on and their hair dry!). Bring any questions you have... we'll see you there.

2007 - 2008 Season Starts Sept. 25, 2007


The Mississauga Masters Swim Club will launch its 2007/2008 Season Tuesday, September 25th, 2007. We offer the option of either 1 or 3 practices per week coached by Eric Shaule, a nationally ranked swimmer. And, it's your choice; you can swim to improve your strokes, increase your fitness level or swim competitively. Plus, it's not all work; you will have a chance to meet the other swimmers at our meet & greet night, a family fun swim and brunch or other social events that we put together from time to time. The location is at the Glen Forest Pool (3575 Fieldgate Dr., Mississauga - near Burnamthorpe & Dixie.)

New 2007/2008 Executive Announced

At the Annual General Meeting held on June 6th, our new executive was formed for the 2007/2008 swim season.

Derrick Does it Again!

Congratulations go out to Derrick Hamilton, who broke his previous national record set earlier this year for the Men's 50 Breast at Nationals in Winnipeg on May 19-21st. Derrick swam a time of 32.43 seconds in the Men's 50-54 age group.

Derrick also finished very well in other races:

1st - 100 Breast (1:14.40)
2nd - 50 Back (:31.89)
1st - 100 IM (1:06.56)
1st - 200 Medley Relay (2:09.77) - swam with Aurora Ducks to set a new Canadian record
6th - 50 Free (27.77)

Mississauga Masters Compete at 2007 Provincial Championships


Eleven of our swimmers made the journey to Sudbury on March 23-25th to compete at this year's Provincial Championships.

We collected a total of 12 medals and numerous ribbons. Of special note, Derrick Hamilton set a new Canadian record in the 50 metre breast stroke. Congratulations, Derrick!
